Using WhatsApp for Showing Confirmations
Set up WhatsApp as the preferred communication channel for seller showing notifications.
Sellers who prefer WhatsApp can receive showing confirmations via WhatsApp instead of SMS.
Setup: 1. Go to the seller's contact profile 2. Set "Preferred Channel" to "WhatsApp" 3. Ensure their phone number includes the country code (+1 for Canada)
How it works: When a showing is requested, the confirmation message is sent via WhatsApp instead of SMS. The seller replies YES or NO in the WhatsApp thread. The response is processed identically to SMS — confirmation triggers lockbox code delivery and calendar event creation.
Requirements:Your Twilio account must have WhatsApp enabled (Twilio Sandbox for testing, or a registered WhatsApp Business number for production)The seller's phone number must be registered with WhatsAppThe TWILIO_WHATSAPP_NUMBER environment variable must be configured
Fallback: If the WhatsApp message fails to deliver (number not registered with WhatsApp, network issues), the system does NOT automatically fall back to SMS. You'll see a "delivery failed" status in the showing detail page and can manually resend via SMS.
