CASL Consent Tracking and Compliance
How Magnate360 enforces CASL consent rules and prevents sending to unsubscribed contacts.
Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) requires explicit consent before sending commercial emails. Magnate360 enforces this automatically.
Consent types:Express consent — contact explicitly opted in (checkbox, form, verbal agreement). No expiry.Implied consent — based on existing business relationship. Expires after 2 years from last transaction or 6 months from last inquiry.
How Magnate360 enforces CASL:Every contact has a consent_status field (given / not_given / expired)The Email Agent checks consent before generating any emailExpired consent contacts are automatically suppressedA weekly cron job checks for upcoming expirations and alerts you
Unsubscribe handling: Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link (legally required). When a contact unsubscribes, their consent is immediately revoked and they are suppressed from all future sends.
Record keeping: Magnate360 logs every consent event: when consent was given, how (form, import, verbal), and by whom. This audit trail is required by CASL and available for compliance reviews.
